Philip Ross passed away April 9, 2015 at the age of 49 in Tucson AZ after a long battle with cancer. He was born January 22, 1966 to Sydney Phillip and Jennie Sue (Allen) Ross. He died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Tucson, Az. He loved Arizona and always let everyone know he never wanted to leave.
He graduated from Goodrich, MI High School in 1984 and Michigan State University in 1989. After working in Detroit he moved to Kirksville, MO where he graduated from KCOM in 1998 as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
Phil was a skilled computer technician. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed playing up until a year ago when he became too ill. Arizona, with its 300 days of sunshine, was perfect for him and he always said the hotter the better! He especially loved the hot Arizona summers and hiking the deserts.
He loved flying radio controlled planes and helicopters and was enthusiastically working with his new quadcopter that would be used to video properties for the real estate company that he and his fiancé owned in Tucson, Az. Since the company covers all of southern Arizona, every day was an adventure in the wild west for Philip and he couldn’t wait to work in a new and unvisited location. The couple would travel 1200 miles in some weeks doing real estate as a team.
Along with his parents he is survived by sons, Maxwell Philip and Dane Robert, sister, Whitney Ross Mauer and fiancé Paula Sindelar and his soon to be in-laws Agnes and Richard Swisher.
Philip loved his two sons dearly and had already had mapped out the fabulous sites he would be taking them this year. Regretfully it did not happen.
Phil has been cremated and private services will be held in Scottsdale, AZ and on Mt. Lemmon, near Tucson, as well as Cancun, Mx and Kirksville, MO.
He is dearly missed by so many as he was a jokester; a teacher by nature; and a kind hearted soul.
A memorial and fund raiser has been created in Philip’s name so that donations for children and adults with cancer can receive items needed and also provide money for research. These donations will start at the hospital where he spent so much time in 2014/2015-The University Medical Center in Tucson-but will also travel to any town and state that can be reached by how many donations are received through the years ahead. The site in Phil’s honor is: www.gofundme.com/Philip-RossCURE
